  • Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

  • Who will you be supporting? 
     
    • Two of us live together one female, age 50 and one male age 65.
    • Between us both we face a few different challenges such as seizures, being partially sighted and having a PEG tube fitted with specific SALT guidelines
    • Staff who support us are trained in epilepsy and buccal midazolam and PEG
    What is important to the people we support? 
     
    • What are we proud of our home and the relationship we have with each other as well as with our support staff
    • We enjoy going out shopping, for meals and going to community groups.
    • We are interested in going out into the community and building relationships with new people
    • We will explore our local community by using public transport
    • We are very easy going and enjoy socialising with others.
    • We will get along with highly motivated people who enjoy going out into the community. We wouldn’t get along with people who don’t respect our wishes
    Any other important information?
     
    • There are 2 members of support staff throughout the day and one through the night
    • The shifts are 8am – 8am or 9am – 8am 7 days a week and a waking night from 8pm – 8am each day
    • We need you to be driven and motivated to want to help us have the best lives possible. We will provide you with all of the training that you will need to be able to do this including buccal midazolam, seizures and PEG
    • This role is for 40 hours and 30 hours Waking Nights with weekend working every other weekend.
